Bluffs and Brews: Paddling the Backwaters of the Mississippi River

July 27 @ 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The second Bluffs & Brews adventure of the summer takes participants on a canoe-bound journey through the Mississippi River Backwaters. While canoeing, take a step back in time and learn about the importance of the river to the town and region as well as learn a little history about the parks we have on the river. Then join us at a local restaurant after trip

What is Bluffs and Brews?

Bluffs & Brews is a collaborative program between the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center and the

Goodhue County Historical Society that began in 2015 and took a brief hiatus during COVID.

There are three parts to a Bluffs & Brews program:

  • First, the group explores an interesting local history topic through an engaging presentation and Q & A session led by the folks at the Goodhue County Historical Society.
  • Next the group explores the outdoors, specifically a local area that represents the historical topic discussed.
  • And finally, after the outdoor adventure, the group convenes at a local restaurant to reflect on the experiences.
Program cost ($20.00) includes equipment usage and any other associated fees not including food and drink.

To register or for more info contact the Goodhue Historical Society.
