On Saturday, July 14 the Goodhue County Historical Society and Red Wing Environmental Learning Center invite you to canoe the Cannon River! Meet us at the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center for a brief presentation of milling history on the Cannon River. Next, we will paddle in canoes in the Cannon River to experience some of the locations mentioned in the presentation including the Welch Mills. A social hour will follow at Marie’s Underground Grill & Tap House in Red Wing, MN.

Transportation will be provided from the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center to the launch site and back. Ticket holders will need to provide his/her own transportation to the Red Wing ELC and to the social hour. Complimentary drink from Marie’s Underground Grill & tap House is included in this program.

Bluffs & Brews is a collaborative program between the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center and the Goodhue County Historical Society that began in 2015. First, the group explores a local history topic through an engaging presentation. Immediately after, the group explores the outdoors, specifically the local area that reflects the content discussed in the historic presentation. Following the outdoor adventure, the group convenes at a local restaurant to reflect on the experience, and for an opportunity to win door prizes.

$15 for members / $25 for non-members
