Learn about the behind-the-scenes, up-close-and personal account of how a handful of Minnesota bands erupted out of a small Midwest market and made it big. Rick will discuss his book Everybody’s Heard About the Bird.

Author Bio: Rick Shefchik is a Duluth, Minnesota native and graduate of Dartmouth College who spent 30 years in journalism, mostly at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, before leaving in 2006 to become a novelist and freelance writer. He has written four novels and five works of non-fiction, including his most recent book, Everybody’s Heard About the Bird: The True Story of 1960s Rock ‘N’ Roll in Minnesota. He lives in Stillwater, MN with his family.
