Goodhue County has an interesting history which intertwines with the natural environment. Citizens in the county often see the Mississippi River, beautiful bluffs, and even eagles! The Goodhue County Historical Society would like to celebrate this sense of place during a wild things themed Free Family Fun Day just as the weather starts to warm up again!

Bring your whole family to the History Center to learn about the beautiful environment that surrounds your family each day. Throughout the afternoon, you are invited to participate in hands-on, multi-sensory activities. Learn how to identify edible plants (and try some for yourself) with Red Wing Environmental Learning Center. Build a bird feeder and discover ways you can help preserve our surroundings with Red Wing Park Naturalists. Create a wild art projects with ArtReach!

Be sure to arrive promptly at 12 PM for “The Raptors of Minnesota” program presented by The Raptor Center. This sixty minute, interactive program is perfect for all ages! Enjoy this exciting experience and learn about the different raptors found in Minnesota and the role they play in the environment. You will handle materials such as feathers, wings, skulls, and feet and see three different raptors – including an eagle!

Free admission and activities begin at 12 PM.  This event is made possible through the support of Xcel Energy.
