History Break: Malt-O-Meal in Northfield

Spend your lunch hour at the Goodhue County History Center for our monthly free lunchtime program! Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch with them while they soak up stories. All programs begin at noon. Space is limited to 60 people. Due to the snow, this program has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 13. 

Stephanie Hess, Curator of Digitization and Special Collections at the Northfield Historical Society,  will give a brief history of Malt-O-Meal in Northfield and share highlights from their collection donated by the family of John S. Campbell (founder of Malt-O-Meal). Attendees with get an insider’s look into the collection itself, as well as the 100-year history of Malt-O-Meal. The presentation will include digital copies of Malt-O-Meal radio ads and TV commercials. Several artifacts will also be available to view.
