History of Lutheran Ladies Seminary

October 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Presentation by: Todd Walsh
Todd Walsh’s parents bought the former President’s House of the Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary in 1978. So began a sometimes hobby and other times obsession with the former Lutheran academy for women. October 14th marks the 115th anniversary of the dedication of the Music Hall that would be the venue for its renowned Conservatory of Music…and on the 158th anniversary of the opening of Luther College in Decorah, the school’s “brother” institution. Join us for a visual presentation presented by Todd on the history of the LLS at the history center. With a tour of the ruins of the seminary following the presentation.
The GCHS will also introduce a book by Todd Walsh and Frederick Johnson telling the story of the Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary “The Castle on the Hill.”
Coffee and Refreshments will be served.
