History Story Time: Rhoda’s Rock Hunt

March 8 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

Join the Goodhue County Historical Society and ArtReach at the Red Wing Public Library for a morning story time, chat about museum collections, and art! Families will listen as Megan Seeland, the Children’s & Teen Services Librarian, read “Rhoda’s Rock Hunt” by Molly Beth Griffin.

GCHS will share how and why museums collect artifacts and, create a museum space so participants can create their own temporary exhibit. The exhibit will feature “collections.” Kids and their adults, are encouraged to bring in their own collections to display during this temporary exhibit. You can bring in any collection you may have at home: stuffed animals,

ArtReach will guide you through creating your very own portable art museum.

The program is free and open to the public. Advanced registration through the Red Wing Public Library is required to ensure we have enough materials for the art project. Registration starts on February 8 and ends on March 1, 2019. Reserve your spot in person or call 651.385.3645. Space for this program is limited to 24 children.

This program will take place in the Foot Room of the Red Wing Public Library.
