The newest program series offered by the Goodhue County Historical Society. Stories at GCHS takes place quarterly and features exceptional historians who will engage you in a wide range of topics with connections to the natural and cultural history of Goodhue County.

 

Stephen Osman returns to the Goodhue County History Center for Stories at GCHS, our new series which features local historians who will present a wide range of topics with connections to the natural and cultural history of Goodhue County.

 

This discussion, illustrated with original artwork, raises questions of how we should remember these tragic events 157 years later.

 

Stephen Osman managed Historic Fort Snelling for over three decades and actively researches, speaks, and writes about Minnesota’s role in the Civil War and U.S. Dakota War of 1862. Osman served with the US Army Reserve in Psychological Operations at Fort Snelling, and has served on boards of the Minnesota Military Museum, the Friends of Fort Snelling, and the Twin Cities Civil War Roundtable.
