Rosemaling, Ages 15+

Discover the history and art of Scandinavian rosemaling.  You will learn rosemaling in the Telemark style, learning the basics of this style which include backgrounding design, scrolls, flowers, leaves, and stems.  You’ll paint a small decorative sandwich board for your home.  A supply list needed will be sent out a week and a half prior to class or supplies may purchased at class from the instructor.  Bring a small box (such as a lid from shoe box) to transport your sandwich board home in.  Register by April 29.  CLARICE DIETER has been studying and teaching rosemaling since 1977 and is active in the Terrace Rosemaling Association.  This class is co-sponsored by Red Wing Community Education and the Goodhue County History Center (GCHC), 1166 Oak Street, Red Wing.

 

Bring to Class: A small box (such as a lid from a shoe box) to transport your sandwich board home in; supplies unless purchasing from instructor at class.
