Clean Up your Community on September 17th!
The Historical Society and the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is teaming up with the Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) to clean several local water systems and celebrate the upcoming arrival of the Water/Ways exhibit. On September 17th, the CRWP leads a watershed-wide cleanup of the Cannon, and for the first year, Red Wing has our own host site. The ELC will take a group along the Cannon to Bay Point Park, our local YMCA will lead another group, and other volunteers will clean up Bay Point Park and Pottery Pond. Live Healthy Red Wing will be providing refreshments to the volunteers before and after the clean-up.
Each volunteer will receive a free meal from the on-site Fiesta Mexicana food truck, as well as an official Cannon River Clean-Up bandanna. The YMCA will be running free activities for kids from 2:30-4:30 PM.
