Historical Society Board to Hold May Meeting in Kenyon

The Goodhue County Historical Society will hold their monthly board meeting at the Gunderson House in Kenyon on Monday, May 18 at 5 PM.  The public is welcome to attend and learn about the Historical Society.  Presentations will be given by the historical societies from Kenyon and Wanamingo as well as other preservation groups from the Kenyon area.

This is the first board meeting of 2015 to be held outside of the organization’s headquarters in Red Wing.  “We feel it is important that we reach out to the whole county and learn more about local history from other areas within the county,” states Board Chair Roger Hand.  “If we can periodically have a board meeting outside of Red Wing, this will help us in continuing to serve all areas of Goodhue County.”

“The Board felt in 2015, we needed to get out and meet some of our local history friends and neighbors in their area,” says Executive Director Dustin Heckman.  “Currently, there are plans to hold 3 more meetings in other parts of the county.  We hope that people will come out and see what we are doing and want to learn more about the Goodhue County Historical Society.”
